LOK 20.450 tested in arctic conditions

As part of a series of trials of the Zephir Locotractors working in arctic conditions the 17th of February one of the 2 LOK 20.450 operated by VR (Finnish railways) handled a 1600t train from the port of Rauma to the Rauma railyard in Finland.

Conditions were deep snow and temperatures around -20°C. The LOK 20.450, specially prepared with a dedicated “ARCTIC PACK”, successfully handled the whole train through slopes, curves and switches.

Dedicated braking tests have previously been performed in January on heavy snow conditions, resulting always well within the prescriptions of the reference standards.

These are part of important tests performed on n.2 LOK 20.450 currently working in Finland.

Celebrations with the partecipation of Baltic and Scandinavian customers followed the successful tests.
